2. Background and Rationale

In today’s dynamic educational environment, teachers serve as the architects of learning experiences that prepare students for the challenges of the modern world. STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, combined with innovative teaching practices, fosters critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.

The International Lesson Plan Competition 2025 aims to provide a platform for preprimary, primary, junior secondary adn senior secondary teachers to design, share, and present innovative lesson plans aligned with modern teaching methodologies. This initiative will encourage global collaboration, professional development, and recognition of teaching excellence, culminating in the International Conference on Quality Education 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.


3. Objectives

  1. To encourage teachers to design creative and effective lesson plans integrating STREAM education principles.

  2. To promote the use of modern, evidence-based teaching methodologies, including:

    • Experiential Learning (EL)

    • Project-Based Learning (PJL)

    • Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL)

    • Problem-Based Learning (PBL)

    • Collaborative Learning (CL)

    • Blended Learning (BL)

    • Flipped Classroom (FC)

    • Design Thinking (DT)

    • Real-World Application (RWA)

    • Gamification Learning (GL)

  3. To recognize both individual and institutional contributions to innovative education.

  4. To strengthen international collaboration and professional sharing among educators.


4. Target Participants and categories 

  • Preprimary Teachers

  • Primary Teachers for primary subjects

  • junior Secondary Teachers for junior secondary subjects

  • senior secondary tachers with senior secondary subject
  • Open to teachers from public and private schools and educational institutions.

  • Participants may come from all over the world. no ghogoropical boundries.


5. Competition Format and Guidelines

Submission Requirements:

Each participant must prepare a lesson plan that:

  • must use given templates 
  • Integrates STREAM education concepts.

  • Applies at least one of the modern teaching methodologies listed above.

  • Includes:

    • Lesson title and grade level

    • Learning objectives and outcomes

    • Description of teaching approach and methodology

    • Lesson activities, resources, and assessment strategies

    • Reflection on learning impact or innovation

Presentation Details:

  • Lesson plan should submit in pdf format and words format

  • Presentation on lesson plan should be recorded in zoom and need to upload to the Face Book Group (video Length should be 10 – 15 minutes)

  • after submit soft copy and video to the Facebook group live interview is been conducted through zoom to select for certificates, medals and awards.

  • Each participant will receive 15 minutes for presentation followed by a 2-minute Q&A session at the live interview.
  • Participants are encouraged to use visual aids such as PowerPoint slides, videos, or interactive tools.

  • Participants should not used videos or audios which are already publish to YouTube or social media as recourses of their lesson plan or presentation

Judging Criteria:

Lesson plans will be assessed based on:

  • Innovation and creativity (20%)

  • Integration of STREAM principles (20%)

  • Application of modern methodology (20%)

  • Practicality and real-world relevance (20%)

  • Clarity and quality of presentation (20%)


6. Awards and Recognition

Individual Awards:

Outstanding educators will be recognized at the International Conference on Quality Education 2026, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from January 1–6, 2026.

Award categories include:

  • Best Lesson Plan (Overall Winner)

  • Best STREAM Integration

  • Best Use of Innovative Teaching Methodology

  • Best Presentation

  • Certificates of Participation for all teachers

  • Medals and Awards for top-performing educators

Institutional (School) Awards:

  • School Awards will be presented based on the number of teachers participating in the competition from each school.

  • Schools with the highest number of participating teachers will receive Certificates of Appreciation and Excellence Awards for promoting innovative teaching practices.

Additional Recognition:

  • Teachers will also be awarded certificates, medals, and honors based on the number of lesson plans submitted and their quality as evaluated by the judging panel.

  • Selected lesson plans may be published in the conference proceedings or featured in international education journals or online repositories.

  • Enhanced teacher capacity to design and deliver high-quality STREAM-based lessons.

  • Increased adoption of modern pedagogical approaches in classrooms.

  • A repository of exemplary, adaptable lesson plans accessible to educators worldwide.
