Application for Profesional Development of Educators

The Ministry of Education recognizes the urgent need to prepare educators for the demands of 21st-century education. Traditional teaching methods are increasingly insufficient for addressing the global challenges of technology-driven, knowledge-based societies.
This proposal outlines a comprehensive international certificate program designed to empower teachers, principals, and teacher educators with modern pedagogical skills and STREAM-based methodologies. Delivered online, the program integrates STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics), Artificial Intelligence in Education, research methodologies, and global best practices.
The initiative aims to:
Build the professional capacity of teachers and school leaders
Promote evidence-based, innovative pedagogical practices
Develop a strong research culture in schools
Provide internationally recognized certification
The program is aligned with the Ministry’s vision to enhance quality education, strengthen teacher development, and contribute to national and global educational reform efforts.
International benchmarks such as UNESCO’s Education 2030 Framework for Action emphasize the importance of developing teachers’ capacity to implement modern teaching strategies. Countries leading in education reform are rapidly shifting towards STEM/STREAM-based education, project-based learning, and AI integration.
In Sri Lanka (and similar contexts), while many teachers are academically qualified, there is a gap in practical training in research writing, innovative pedagogy, and classroom application of STREAM education. Teachers often lack opportunities for international exposure and professional recognition.
This initiative directly addresses these gaps by:
Equipping educators with modern pedagogical skills
Promoting research-driven practice in schools
Providing international recognition through certification
To strengthen the professional capacity of teachers and educational leaders through modern pedagogical approaches and international certification.
Train 5,000+ educators in STREAM and innovative pedagogies.

The global knowledge landscape is evolving rapidly, driven by significant scientific and technological advancements. In response, children must develop multidisciplinary skills to navigate the challenges of an increasingly complex global society. However, the current education system faces significant challenges in effectively addressing the needs of this dynamic environment.
To bridge the gap between the current state of learning outcomes and the demands of the future, substantial reforms are required to ensure the highest standards of quality, equity, and integrity within the educational system—from early childhood care and education to higher education. The lack of collaboration and international forums among countries significantly hinders the implementation of these necessary reforms.
The STREAM education approach, designed to equip children with 21st-century skills and prepare them for a rapidly changing world, has not been effectively implemented in many classrooms. Curricula, teaching methodologies, and assessment and evaluation systems in schools have not been upgraded at the pace required to align with STEAM principles and evolving global demands.
Moreover, there is an urgent need to enhance teacher empowerment and capacity-building mechanisms for educators and educational leaders to better meet the needs of a rapidly evolving society. The lack of motivation among educators for research and innovation limits the development of new strategies and solutions to address existing challenges and improve the quality of education.
Additionally, there is a dearth of international platforms where educators can share best practices, research findings, and innovative ideas aimed at improving the quality of education. The valuable contributions of educators and the excellence demonstrated by schools are not adequately recognized or evaluated on global platforms.
Empower stakeholders in education to equip children with the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving world fostering their 21st-century competencies and spiritual well-being, while ensuring the sustainability of individuals, nations, and the global society.
To establish international platforms and networks for educational stakeholders, aimed at enhancing the quality of education by promoting STREAM education, employability, entrepreneurship, green education, and mindfulness.
To establish international platforms and networks that empower educators—including teachers, principals, and educational leaders—in implementing STREAM education.
To create international platforms and networks for exchanging best practices, research findings, and innovative ideas to promote STREAM education within the school system.
To develop international platforms and networks for sharing best practices in fostering employability, entrepreneurship, green education, and mindfulness in schools, addressing the challenges of modern society.
To establish international platforms and networks for sharing best practices, research findings, and innovative ideas to equip children with 21st-century skills and promote their spiritual well-being. (Spiritual well-being is understood not as any particular religious or spiritual practice but as the overall quality of human existence.)
To recognize and honor the dedicated contributions of educators for their innovations, research findings, sharing of best practices, and unwavering commitment to quality education.
To acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of schools for their educational leadership, innovations, and contributions to advancing quality education.
Curriculum Development: Enhancing school curricula by integrating STREAM education, employability skills, entrepreneurship, green education, and mindfulness.
Innovative Teaching Practices: Advancing teaching methodologies and pedagogical approaches to foster critical thinking and creativity in STREAM-related disciplines.

In today’s volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) global environment, individuals must equip themselves with the skills needed to navigate these challenges. The conference will highlight strategies for fostering essential 21st-century skills and supporting the spiritual well-being of children, helping them thrive in a competitive global society.
The conference is not merely a one-time event; it represents a continuous process of improving the quality of education. A series of pre-conference activities, including live interviews, discussions, presentations, and an online lecture series covering topics such as STEAM education, employability, entrepreneurship, green education, and mindfulness, will be conducted by delegates and selected experts leading up to the conference. Educators are encouraged to participate in these pre-conference activities.

The conference provides a prestigious international platform for global leaders in education to present their expertise, share best practices, and contribute to the advancement of education standards. It offers a unique opportunity for all participants to forge international connections and collaborate in empowering their schools and institutions to achieve excellence in education.
The conference is limited to 100 educators, with selection based on early registration, qualifications, and professional experience.
The STEAM education approach, designed to equip children with 21st-century skills and prepare them for a rapidly changing world, has not been effectively implemented in many classrooms.
To establish international platforms and networks for educational stakeholders, aimed at enhancing the quality of education by promoting STEAM education, employability, entrepreneurship, green education, and mindfulness.
To establish international platforms and networks that empower educators—including teachers, principals, and educational leaders—in implementing STEAM education.
To create international platforms and networks for exchanging best practices, research findings, and innovative ideas to promote STEAM education within the school system.
