02. Introduction

The International Summit for Quality Education – 2023, is being organized by the International Association for Quality Education(IAfQE) which is an international non-profit-oriented education association working to upgrade the quality of education to achieve Sustainable Development Goals in 2030. 

Summit will be focused on “Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)” and “Greening Education.”

Taking a life-long learning approach starting from pre-primary to adult education, ESD aims to equip all learners with critical competencies covering not only knowledge but also social and emotional awareness and actions, including critical thinking and collaboration.

Education should aim the sustainable development of individuals, countries, and global society.

Drawing upon ESD’s holistic approach to learning, this summit will be a platform to discuss new strategies and share best practices on skills essential for the 21st century to face the Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA) situation of the present global society. 

methods to develop the Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, and Mindset of children as well as capacity building of pre-service and in-service academic staff and empower the quality of school management will be discussed at the summit.

Education must be transformed to respond to the global climate and environmental crisis. Building the knowledge and practice accumulated in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), “Greening Education” aims to deliver strong, coordinated, and comprehensive action that will prepare every learner to acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to tackle climate change and to promote sustainable development. Summit will discuss how to reform schools/Institutes with Greening Education.

Summit will be organized with guidance of the Hon. Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Minister of Mass Media, Highway and Transport in Sri Lanka to give international level educational exposure to all delegates… 

Kunwar’s Global School – Lucknow, India is the hosting partner for the event. The conference will be held physically on the 30th, 31st of January, and 01st of February in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 

Keynote speakers will share their best practices, research findings, and new knowledge on different kinds of themes towards “Education for Sustainable Development” and “Greening Education” at the conference. All presentations will be streamed live to the global society. 

In addition to that selected schools will be awarded on the biases of performance of 2022. 

During the summit all delegates will visit Top level Sri Lankan universities, Educational and research institutes and excellent schools to get unbelievable life experience. Discussions and knowledge sharing programs  also will be organized with academic staff of the above international level universities and institutes.  

Summit is an international benchmark for leaders in Education to make networks and work collaboratively to empower their schools/institutes for Education for Sustainable Development and Greening Education. 

Summit will be launched on 30th January 2023 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), in Colombo, Sri Lanka with the participation of educators in the South Asian Region as well as other Countries. The physical summit is limited only to 100 educators and selections will be done based on early registrations. 

03. Problem Statement

• Existing School curriculums, Teaching-learning processes, and assessment and evaluation methodologies of many countries still don’t have given more priority to develop 21st-century skills & knowledge, Skills, Attitudes and Mindset (K-SAM) of the children.
• General Education (K – 12)  curriculum, Teaching-learning processes, and assessment and evaluation methodologies are not compatible  with present global needs such as education for Sustainable development or greening education.
• Traditional General Education (K – 12) teacher training mechanisms are out-of-date and those mechanisms have no capacity to develop 21st-century skills as expected.
• Huge gap is there between the expectations of higher and vocational education on General education and the outcome of the General Education. There is no platforms to bring both parties together to give good view to the ordinary communities.  
• Opportunities are limited to find solutions and new strategies to the above issues to individuals and organizations isolatedly. sharing Best Practices, observing and gettin real life experience on ideal institutes, schools and making networking is more important. but limited opportunities are available for that.

After you apply to participate for the summit you will get opportunity to be a keynote speaker on the basis of your academic and professional qualification.   In Addition to that Educators, Principals, and Teachers who perform well in live interviews/ Live Presentations will be selected for keynote speeches.  Keynote Speakers will get the opportunity to do keynote speeches at the international education summit. keynote speakers will get 10 minutes for their Keynote speeches/ presentations and They will be awarded with international Awards.

 13. Registration Fee:

Registration fee for Individuals – The Delegate’s registration fee is 300 USD which includes 5 days with 4 night stays (29th January to 2rd February 2023) Accommodations, Foods,  sightseeing, local transport cost, and the registration fee for the Conference. 

The registration fee for Sri Lankan Educators is Rs. 10,000 which does not include a stay and local transport.

Registration fee for Schools – The registration fee for Schools is 400 USD. One Representative from the school is eligible to participate free of charge at the summit. Schools that applied for registration are evaluated under category 2 for awarding.

The registration fee for Sri Lankan Schools is Rs. 15000 .
